Seasonal Reservations Agent

The Reservation Agent is a sales and customer service position.  The Reservation Agent is responsible for booking motorhome rental reservations by providing impeccable customer service and encouraging the customer to finalize their reservation.  In addition to being able to sell reservations to customers, the Reservation Agent is expected to perform other general operational duties.

This position pays a base wage plus commissions.  During the initial training period (approx. 2-4 weeks) the wage is $14.00 per hour base plus a $1.00 per hour time card bonus.  After training is completed and signed off by the supervisor, the position pays $10.00 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour time card bonus plus commissions.  The commissions can be a substantial portion of the total compensation package and should average between $5.00 to $10.00+ per hour to include an upfront commission and a portion paid out in an end of season bonus.

Responsibilities include:
  • Take calls from prospective clients and assist them in reserving their motorhome vacation.
  • Provide rotational coverage of cashier position.
  • Assist Customer Service staff with rental pick ups and returns.
  • Assist in operation of retail outlets.
  • Provide office admin. assistance support to Board of Directors, General Manager, Customer Service Manager, and Service Department Management.
  • Assist Sales Manager with a variety of reports.
  • Assist with the opening and closing of the business for the rental season.
  • Answer phones, update mailing lists and other assigned duties.

Requirements include: 

  • You must be a self-starter with the ability to logically think through and accomplish assigned tasks.
  • You must be at least 25 years of age.
  • Ability to sell available reservation dates to prospective clients.
  • You must have proficient computer skills including accurate typing at 40 words per minute and basic knowledge of MS Word.
  • You must maintain consistent and reliable work attendance.
  • You must possess an Alaska State Drivers license and a clean driving record.

Seasonal RV Technician

The Seasonal RV Technician will be responsible for the proper diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of all types of RV products in accordance with Company and Manufacturers’ standards.   The successful candidate will work with the Service Manager and other RV Technicians in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a fleet of motorhomes on Ford Chassis.  RV Technicians will demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities that promote safety in the workplace, preventive maintenance practices, identification of warranty claims and cost control on vehicle repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Additional responsibilities include staging RV’s for repairs, acquiring parts, completing repair orders, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $14 to $22 per hour DOE.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Alaska driver's license, clean driving record, and maintain same during employment.
  • Must have consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Must have a complete set of tools.
  • Must be able to lift 85 pounds.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have 2 years in vehicle maintenance or technical shcool.

Housekeeper


$14.00 per hour based on $10.00 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour time card bonus, and $3.00 end of season, safety and wellness bonuses. (See Bonus section below for details)

Responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning the interior of the motorhome.
  • Outfitting the vehicle with supplies for our guests.
  • On occasion, lifting up to 40 pounds.

Shop Assistant / Mechanic's helper

$14.00 per hour based on $10.00 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour time card bonus, and $3.00 end of season, safety and wellness bonuses. (See Bonus section below for details)

Responsibilities include:

  • Balancing motorhome tires.
  • Changing motorhome oil.
  • Performing light motorhome maintenance. 
  • On occasion, lifting up to 72 pounds. 

Requirements include: 

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must have a valid Alaska driver's license.
  • You must have a clean driving record.

Parts Clerk

$15.00 per hour based on $11.00 per hour base pay plus a $1.00 per hour time card bonus, and $3.00 per hour End of Season and Safety and Wellness bonuses. (See Bonus section below for details)

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform OTC retail sales activities
  • Supply parts to technicians in a timely manner
  • Prepair and price repair orders (RO's) for retail service agreements 
  • Answer Service and Parts department phone calls
  • Assist the Sales and Service departments with delivery schedules
  • Parts receiving and other duties as directed by the Fixed Operations Manager 

Requirements include: 

  • You must be at least 21 years of age
  • You must have a valid Alaska driver's license
  • You must have a clean driving record
  • You must have proficient computer skills and basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Access and Outlook. IDS experience is preferred.
  • You must be able to sell repair services and parts, pay consistent attention to detail, have strong verbal communication skills, and work well with others.

Vehicle Washer-Driver

Responsibilities include:

  • Washing the exterior of motorhomes.
  • Filling the vehicles with water.
  • Ensuring exterior compartments are clean and in good order.
  • Moving the motorhomes around on the lot.

  • You must be able to lift 70 pounds.
  • You must have a valid Alaska driver's license and a clean driving record and bring a copy of your Alaska DMV driving record with you.

Detailer

Responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning exterior of motorhomes. Filling them with water.
  • Drive company motorhomes, positioning them for cleaning, repair or rental as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining the neatness and safety of work areas.
  • Assist Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Customer Service departments to prepare motorhomes for rental. 
Requirements include:
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • You must have a valid Alaska driver's license and a good driving record and bring a copy of your Alaska DMV driving record with you.

Customer Service Representatives


$16.00 per hour based upon $12.00 per hour plus Customer Service Commissions plus a $1.00 per hour time card bonus and $3.00 per hour end of season and safety and wellness bonuses. (See Bonus section below for details).

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting our guests with their rental contract completion, which includes some computer skills, some rental item sales and cheerful customer contact.
  •  On occasion, lifting up to 70 pounds.

Requirements include: 

  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • You must have an outgoing personality and strong verbal skills.
  • You must have basic computer skills.
  • You must have a valid Alaska driver's license.
  • You must have a VERY clean driving record.

Shuttle Van Driver

  • Transport clients to and from the airport or hotels.
  • Assist clients with their luggage.

Training

Training is the key to employee and company success. At Great Alaskan Holidays, each employee is trained for the duties and responsibilities of their position with the interest of safety, employee satisfaction and company success.

Bonus

Great Alaskan Holidays offers a substantial bonus program for the Seasonal team members.  The $2.00 per hour end of season, safety and wellness bonus starts accruing no earlier than April 22, 2008 or date of hire which ever is later.

Full Time or Part Time

Full time hours are an average of 28-45 hours per week. Part time hours are negotiable. 


Location

We are located at 9800 Old Seward Highway .

  • Half way between Dimond Blvd. and O'Malley Blvd., between E. 94th and 100th Street, our beautiful 27,000 sq.ft. motorhome rental and sales dealership is next to United Rentals on the (west) side of the street. Look for our large green and white sign, turn into our driveway and park in front of the main building. Walk to the front doors and enter the glass showroom where signs will direct you to the office where someone from our staff will assist you.
